Welcome to William F. Cody Elementary. We are proud to be one of the twenty five Millard elementary schools. Our great school is comprised of hard working students and dedicated staff. We are home to a number of unique programs including four special needs preschool classrooms and two alternate curriculum classrooms. Additionally, we are fortunate to have a grant funded EarlyStart program that provides full day preschool services to income eligible students. This program has helped prepare almost 200 students for kindergarten the past few years. We were one of the first Millard Schools to offer a breakfast program and currently serve almost 80 students each morning.

Our Cody community is one grounded in hard work and family. Nearly 75% of our students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. This qualifies us to be an “All Title I” school, which provides funding for additional teachers and support to maintain our small teacher to student ratios. We are proud to have been named a Nebraska Distinguished Title I school in 1997-98. We value our partnerships with families and are grateful to our volunteer community, all of whom help our school achieve excellence.

We believe that it is important to have high expectations of all of our students. We respect our students and families and we expect to receive respect in return. Cody students and staff work hard each day to Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. These three expectations and a focus on the 40 Developmental Assets serve as a foundation to how we approach our time at school. We value the diversity and cultures of all of our students and staff and hope our learning community can be a role model of cooperation and support for each other.

We at Cody Elementary invite you to visit our school. Upon your arrival you will find highly engaged students, energetic staff and a level of learning that will amaze you. My door is always open. I appreciate feedback from our parents and community. Working together positively will lead to success for everyone.
